Reliable MOT Testing in Liphook and the Surrounding Areas

Once your vehicle has reached three years old, it is a legal requirement to have an MOT every year.

This is basically an annual visual safety inspection to make sure that your vehicle meets the minimum safety regulations set out by DVSA.

The MOT can be pre-dated up to one calendar month in advance of an existing MOT certificate.

MOT Test

An MOT is carried out by a nominated tester that has been accredited by DVSA. The tester will carry out a format of inspections on your vehicle, including under the vehicle, the interior checking safety features like seat belts, SRS systems, condition of tyres, steering and suspension. The test should take approximately 45 minutes. This is carried out to ensure that your vehicle is in a roadworthy condition.

All of the test results are put into a DVSA computer system and if the vehicle passes, you will be issued with a VT20 (Pass certificate). You can still have a pass certificate with minor or advisory items that are printed on the certificate, these are items which will require attention in future. You will be advised on the importance of each of these by the nominated tester or by our service advisor at the service reception.

MOT Failure

Should your vehicle fail its MOT test you will be issued with a VT30, which is a Refusal of an MOT test certificate. This will be explained to you by the tester or service advisor and most repairs can be carried out same day, subject to the availability of parts.

MOT - While You Wait

Whilst your MOT test is being carried out you can watch the test being done from a designated viewing area or you can relax in the reception waiting area with free wifi and refreshments.
